The fruit of the cacao tree (Theobromo cacao L.), which originated in the Amazon basin, is a real insider’s tip. The light-colored, almost white flesh of the cacao pod has a wonderful sweet-sour flavor. It is particularly rich in vitamin B1 and also contains vitamins C and B2 as well as valuable Omega fatty acids and iron. A “must” for fans of exotic fruit!
