The nut of the coconut palm, which is native to the tropics, is a food that is thousands of years old and is actually not a real nut at all, but a drupe.
The snow-white pulp that ‘lines’ the hollow core of the young, still green coconut is rich in vegetable fats and fibre. It also contains plenty of iron, potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6.
Our pure coconut puree is obtained from the flesh of young, green coconuts in Brazil and has an intense coconut flavour, but is significantly ‘lighter’ than coconut milk. It is extremely versatile as an ingredient for smoothies and goes very well with other tropical fruits, such as mango or pineapple.
In our smoothie and bowl mixes, however, we use coconut milk from Sri Lanka, which gives the mixes a nice consistency and a pleasantly sweet coconut flavour.
