Lulo (Naranjilla)

Lulo is the fruit of a nightshade plant that is cultivated in the South American Andes at altitudes of up to 2400 metres.

The bushes of this plant reach a height of up to 3 metres. The hairy fruit, also known as naranjilla (‘little orange’), has a slightly sour, very refreshing flavour and is therefore an ideal ingredient for fresh smoothies. The yellowish flesh of the lulo also has excellent functional properties thanks to its vitamin A, B and C content.

Lulo puree mixed with neutral fruit juices, water or (plant) milk makes a refreshing exotic drink.

We source our lulo puree from Ecuador.
